18 Apr Senior Fellow Catherine Hankins Inducted into Canadian Medical Hall of Fame
We are proud to share that AIGHD Senior Fellow Dr. Catherine Hankins was recently inducted as a laureate into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame last April 13, 2024. With a long history of working in the field of Public and Global Health, Dr. Hankins has deservedly received this honour as a way to commemorate her commitment to combatting HIV/AIDS and the COVID-19 pandemic.
She has been long-time advocate for women in the field of science and works with us on the annual INTEREST conference held every year in Africa. She also leads various projects at AIGHD such as CAPRISA-018 and is a longtime trustee of the HIV Research Trust’s annual scholarship call.
She holds positions as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Global Health (AmsterdamUMC – UvA), an Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’s Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health, and a Professor of Public Health at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine located in Canada.
